Maggie has been lucky enough to be introduced to yoga at about age 12, and she has been teaching since she turned 21, after receiving her 200 hr training through Seaside Yoga in Nosara, Costa Rica (under the tutelage of Ashley Ludman). Over the past eight plus years, her teaching experience has been further influenced by completing a Strala Yoga intensive training under Tara Stiles and Mike Taylor, as well as trauma-sensitive yoga teacher training with Anneke Lucas, founder of Liberation Prison Yoga, both in NYC, as well as a Breakthrough Breathwork facilitator training once again in Nosara, Costa Rica.
Maggie's love of movement and understanding of the body as an expression of inner joy and generosity of spirit informs a contagious sense of playfulness in her teaching and practice (even when your abdominals might be aching from a nice little core sequence). She believes in movement as an innately healing function of the body, and that our body is not something to strive to be liberated from, but rather liberated through...to find freedom through our own form, working with what we have, starting wherever we are, and to befriend and enjoy our lives with greater depth and awareness.
Maggie teaches All Levels Dynamic Yoga Flow on Saturdays at 9:30 a.m.
