YOGA

Foundations of Yoga: for those students who are new to yoga and want to learn the basics of the practice with sound foundational instruction. This class allows time for individual learning, personal instruction, time to practice what you’ve learned and question and answer session. This is also an opportunity for those who wish to refine or refresh their practice.

Yoga SBF: for beginning & continuing students. Equal parts Strength, Balance & Flexibility for a well-rounded practice. Work mindfully to perfect standing postures. Gain confidence to stand on one foot. Balance strength and flexibility to help you balance life on and off the mat. Practice ends with deep stretches & relaxation.

Yoga Basics: become firmly established in Sun Salutations, moving and stretching the entire body. Learn yogic breathing to help you move smoothly through your practice and your life. Class will include meditation and yoga nidra. Suitable for all levels; no experience necessary. A great way to end your day, leave feeling energized yet relaxed.

Basic Yoga Flow: for beginning & continuing students. A vinyasa flow style class focusing on basic postures with emphasis on building awareness of the breath & body. Poses are practiced at a slower pace with attention to alignment & detail.

All Levels Yoga Flow: a moderately-paced class appropriate for ongoing/experienced Level 1 students through advanced students. A vinyasa flow style class incorporating alignment & technique, modifications are given allowing the student to choose a basic or more advanced practice according to their needs. A beautiful opportunity to be inspired by students of all levels.

All Levels Dynamic Yoga Flow: want just a little more than All Levels? This class will take you to the next step providing an opportunity to challenge yourself with some more advanced transitions and postures. Some experience and familiarity with postures is recommended - not for raw beginners.

Dynamic Yoga Flow*: recommended for students with at least 3 months of consistent practice at Levels 1 & 2. This heated vinyasa flow style class focuses on connecting breath with movement while moving continuously. Challenging postures are introduced including backbends, inversions & balancing. Rest periods & modifications are encouraged as needed.

Sunday Soul Flow Yoga: access inner peace & joy with this all-levels class designed to soothe your soul and energize and refresh your body. Class will start at a leisurely pace and build to include some more advanced postures for those who want a little more challenge. Expect some type of inversions and backbends. And stay till the end for a nice long savasansa before taking your practice off the mat.

Noon Gentle Yoga: designed to gently stretch & strengthen the entire body using basic, low to the ground postures. You will typically practice a few standing postures to improve balance, work on improving range of motion & flexibility, & end with relaxation before continuing with your day. Meets Mon/Wed/Fri with alternating themes of strength, balance, and flexibility. Monday includes flow/vinyasa. Suitable for all levels.

Yin Yoga/Yin Flow: this beautiful class focuses on releasing connective tissue through a relaxed practice with long, passive holds in specific postures. These asanas gently stretch & rehabilitate the connective tissues allowing us to maintain & restore joint flexibility. The practice also allows us to reflect inward & examine how our habits are reflected in our bodies & in our lives. Yin Flow takes the healing and meditative benefits of longer held postures and adds slow flowing movement to combine the best of both vinyasa and yin practices. Classes are suitable for all levels.

Restorative Yoga: this calming, nurturing class promotes the effects of conscious relaxation & is particularly beneficial for coping with insomnia, menstrual discomfort, headaches, fatigue & an overstimulated nervous system. Props are utilized for maximum comfort. Restore, re-energize, renew. This class is suitable for all levels.

Slow Yoga: slow doesn’t mean easy, but this class is suitable for all levels. Moving at a slower pace means you use muscles rather than momentum. Whether class involves asana or simply working on static postures, everything is done in slower motion with longer holds. Come feel the burn!

Somatic Movement Therapy & Improvisation: awaken your bodily sensing and discover the rich, supportive, subjective experience of embodiment. This class dramatically improves your connection to yourself, enabling you to access movement with refinement, fluidity and efficiency - in life and in all of your movement practices. Functionally improve dynamic alignment, breath support, grounding and movement motivation as a personal, integrated expression of embodied anatomy. Class is taught from an experiential anatomical perspective with a conclusion of personal, creative movement exploration with music.

BARRE, PLYOGA, PILATES

Barre Class: a ballet-inspired barre class focusing on creating long, lean muscles and strong core while increasing flexibility, coordination and posture. This fast-paced workout improves balance, strength, grace and self-discipline with no joint stress - and will leave you standing taller! The use of light hand weights, props, a mat and the barre are all you need - no ballet training necessary!

Core Barre Class: a high energy Pilates-based barre class with a strong emphasis on moving from your center and strengthening core muscles. You will work legs, seat, arms and abs with additional Pilates mat exercises to strengthen your entire mid-section: front, sides and back!  Students are given specific cues, hands-on corrections and close attention to good form and correct alignment. Core Barre will lengthen you, strengthen you, make you sweat and put you in a good mood!

Pilates Mat: a form of conditioning with its roots ingrained in rehabilitation, strength & stretch. The method encompasses over 500 exercises and is based on the principle that before working the peripheral body parts, the core must be strong and stable. Students can expect to improve strength, stretch, stamina and stability (the 4 S's of Pilates) by applying the principles of stabilization, control, concentration, flow, breath and precision. This class is suitable for all levels.

HIIT Pilates: in HIIT, or high-intensity interval training, you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods. This type of training gets and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time. for 30 seconds with a Lower Intensity Pilates Exercise in the 'rest' period . The Pilates Exercise helps to align the body and engage the core for the next High Intensity Exercise.

PLYOGA: a-4 part interval training system using the benefits of fundamental & accelerated yoga as active recovery for plyometric (reactive) movements. No equipment or frills needed - just you! Wear athletic shoes for this class & bring water and a towel!
